An honest note about learning
Reading Adventure Worlds is an educational tool that helps a grown-up teach a child to read with step-by-step phonics. Every child learns at their own pace. We do not promise or guarantee any particular result, reading level, test score, grade-level performance, school readiness or timeline. Examples on this site show how the program works; they are not a prediction of results for your child.
Ages 2 to 8
Some children are curious about letters and sounds as early as two, and older or struggling readers can still benefit from systematic phonics, so the program is designed for children about ages 2 to 8. You know your child best. Keep sessions short, follow your child’s lead, stop before it gets frustrating, and never push. For very young children, sit together and follow your pediatrician’s guidance on screen time.
The optional sound check is not an assessment
The short check on our website suggests a starting point. It is not a reading assessment, screening or diagnosis.
Not a substitute for professional advice
Reading Adventure Worlds is not a medical, psychological, speech-language or special-education service, and it does not screen for, diagnose or treat any condition. It is not a substitute for an evaluation by a qualified professional, such as a pediatrician, audiologist, eye doctor, speech-language pathologist, reading specialist or educational psychologist.
If you have concerns about dyslexia, speech or language development, hearing, vision, attention or another learning difference, please talk to a qualified professional. Under federal law, your local public school district can evaluate children for suspected disabilities at no cost, including many children who are homeschooled or not yet in school.
Homeschool and program requirements
If you homeschool or use scholarship funds, you are responsible for meeting the education and record-keeping requirements that apply to you. Using Reading Adventure Worlds does not by itself satisfy those requirements.
Supervision
The program is designed to be used with a grown-up nearby. Please supervise young children, including around devices and cords.
Accuracy
We work hard to make our lessons accurate and age-appropriate, but mistakes can happen. If you spot one, please email hello@readingadventureworlds.com and we’ll fix it.
