Step Up & Scholarship Purchase Terms

Effective October 2, 2026. Written for parents, in plain language.

These terms apply when you buy Reading Adventure Worlds with Step Up For Students scholarship funds, such as PEP or FES-UA, through Step Up’s Education Market Assistant (EMA) marketplace. They add to our Terms of Service. For click-by-click instructions, see the Step Up purchase guide.

Not affiliated with Step Up For Students

Reading Adventure Worlds is listed in the Step Up marketplace under our company name, Crown Oak Learning LLC. We are an independent business. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Step Up For Students, and being an approved provider is not an endorsement. “Step Up For Students” and “EMA” belong to their owners; we use those names only to explain how to pay.

Step Up decides eligibility and funding

Step Up For Students decides which students are eligible, which purchases are allowed, how much funding is available and when it is released. We can’t decide, predict or guarantee any of that, and program rules can change. If the portal shows a problem with funds or eligibility, please contact Step Up For Students.

How a scholarship order works

  1. Create your free grown-up account and set up your reader, so we have an account to unlock.
  2. Reserve funds in EMA for the Reading Adventure Worlds tuition line under Crown Oak Learning LLC ($9.99 per month, quantity 1 for one reader).
  3. Reserving funds does not unlock paid worlds automatically. We review the reserved order to confirm the student, service, quantity and amount, then unlock the paid worlds in the account you tell us.

Email us your order reference and your account email so we can match them. We may decline or cancel an order we can’t verify or that doesn’t follow the program rules; any reserved funds are then released under Step Up’s process.

One order per reader, per period

Each order covers one reader for the period shown on the order. If more than one of your children will use Reading Adventure Worlds, place a separate order under each student.

Renewals

A scholarship order is not a card subscription. To continue after the period you paid for, follow the renewal steps EMA shows, which may mean placing a new order. Automatic monthly renewal through EMA is not guaranteed. Please don’t buy a separate card membership for the same reader and period; if that happens, email us and we’ll refund the duplicate card payment.

Receipts and records

We provide the invoices and itemized receipts the program requires and keep order records as long as Step Up’s program rules and tax laws require. We share with Step Up the order information it needs to process, verify and audit scholarship purchases, as described in our Privacy Policy. We never share your child’s learning progress with Step Up unless you ask us to.

Refunds

Refunds of scholarship-funded orders follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy and Step Up’s rules, and normally go back to the scholarship account.

Keep your EMA login private

Never share your EMA password with anyone. We will never ask for it, and we cannot see or access your EMA account.

Proper use of funds

Scholarship funds must be used only as the program allows. We may report suspected misuse or fraud to Step Up For Students when required.
